- This will be just the 13th all-time meeting between the two programs with Nebraska holding a slim 5-4-3 edge. The teams have drawn in three of the last four meetings. The last Ohio State win came during the 2017 when the Buckeyes won 1-0 in Lincoln.
- Last year, the teams met twice in Lincoln. The first match on Oct. 8 resulted in a 2-2 tie. Emma Sears and Kayla Fischer each scored a goal and also had an assist. The Huskers scored with just over four minutes to play to even the match at 2-2. In the Big Ten Tournament on Oct. 30, Nebraska advanced with a 4-0 victory.
- Ohio State is unbeaten in its last five matches and comes into Thursday with a 4-2-2 overall mark. The Buckeyes have scored 15 goals over the five-match unbeaten streak.
- The Buckeyes opened Big Ten play last Sunday with a 1-1 draw at defending Big Ten champion Michigan State. Sophomore Sophia Louder scored her first collegiate goal, pulling the Buckeyes even in the 63rd minute, heading-home a corner from Kine Flotre. The goal was a extra special for Louder as it came on her birthday.
- Nebraska opened Big Ten play last Thursday evening with a 1-1 draw at home vs. Wisconsin. The Cornhuskers started the year with a 2-2 tie against Creighton and then won six-consecutive matches, outscoring their opponents 24-2 during that stretch. They are now winless in their last two matches entering Thursday.
- Junior forward Kailyn Dudukovich scored seven goals over the first six games, which marked the best start to a season by any player in program history. Her seven goals are third-most in the conference and she is averaging 2.25 points per game which is 10th-best nationally.
- Head coach Lori Walker-Hock enters Thursday's match seeking the 300th win of her career. She is in her 27th season with the Buckeyes and her 29th overall as a head coach. She is looking to become the 33rd active coach with 300 career victories. 286 of her 299 wins have come as a Buckeye.
