COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women's golf team is back in action this week, competing in the Mary Fossum Invitational, hosted by Michigan State, Sept. 17-18.

- The teams will play two rounds on Sunday, Sept. 17, with the final round being played on Monday, Sept. 18.
- The tournament will be played at Forest Akers West, which is a 6,379-yard par 72. The teams will have a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. each day.
- In addition to the Buckeyes and the Spartans, the other competing teams are: Grand Valley State, Kent State, Maryland, Michigan, Nebraska, North Carolina, Northern Illinois, Notre Dame, Oakland, Purdue, Tennessee, Toledo and Virginia Tech.
- The Buckeyes have won the team title at the Mary Fossum Invitational five times (1979, 1980, 1983, 1988 and 1992).
Buckeye Notes
- Ohio State opened its season earlier this week at the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M. The Buckeyes tied for 10th place with a 54-hole team score of 883 (+19).
- Caley McGinty, who was named to the 2023-24 ANNIKA Award Watch List, was the top finished for the Buckeyes, placing tied for 10th with a score of 214 (-2). On the first day of the tournament, she carded two under-par rounds of 71 (-1) and 69 (-3).
- Jillian Bourdage finished tied for 31st with a 54-hole score of 220 (+4). She fired a 68 (-4) in the second round of the tournament.
- Faith Choi carded three 74s (+2) to finish the tournament with an overall score of 222 (+6) to tie for 41st place.
- Emily Hummer carded a 54-hole score of 227 (+11) and tied for 59th.
- Kavya Ajjarapu made her Buckeye debut, competing as an individual. She finished tied for 70th with a 54-hole score of 229 (+13).
- This week's starting lineup will be McGinty, Bourdage, Choi, Hummer and Kary Hollenbaugh. Ajjarapu will again compete as an individual.
- This will be Hollenbaugh's first event of the season. She competed in 11 tournaments during the 2022-23 season and averaged an 18-hole score of 73.45 over 33 rounds played. She was a Second Team All-Big Ten selection and was named one of this season's Big Ten Players to Watch.
- The Buckeyes are again participating in the Folds of Honor program this year and will honor fallen Ohio State police officer Michael Blankenship. McGinty has been chosen by her teammates to carry the Folds of Honor bag this week.
