
Three-Game Weekend Up Next for Ohio State

Buckeyes are set to host New Hampshire, Bucknell and UC Davis Friday-Monday
COLUMBUS, Ohio - The home portion of Ohio State's 2023 schedule opens this weekend, as the Buckeyes will host New Hampshire, Bucknell and UC Davis in a four-day span.
Ohio State's games against New Hampshire and Bucknell are part of the Buckeyes Invitational. There will be two other neutral site games at Buckeye Varsity Field: Ball State will meet Bucknell on Friday at 1 p.m. and Ball State takes on New Hampshire at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 3. The game vs. UC Davis on Monday is not part of the event.

Promotions This Weekend
• Admission to all games at Buckeye Varsity Field is free. Parking, which is also free, is available in the lots surrounding the Woody Hayes Athletic Center and Schumaker Complex.
• On Friday, fans are encouraged to wear scarlet. Sunday's theme is Youth Day, which will include inflatables and frozen treats, and on Monday the Buckeyes will hold their annual student/staff appreciation game. Canvas bags will be given away to students attending the Monday game.

Buckeyes In a Nutshell
• Ohio State opened its season with two wins in a 48-hour span last weekend, topping Bucknell 5-2 and Lafayette 4-1.
• The Buckeyes' nine goals in their first two games were the most since they score 10 in wins over UMass and Boston University to open the 2019 season.
• Eight different players had at least one point last weekend, led by senior forward Makenna Webster, who notched five points on two goals and an assist.
• Leanne Bough, a fifth-year senior, scored a goal in each game and had four points.
• Freshman Anne Marie Krebs, playing her first two collegiate games, scored once and had two assists for four points.
• Ohio State's defense limited its two opponents last weekend to 17 shots on goal.
Scouting New Hampshire
• Like Ohio State, New Hampshire had a 2-0 opening weekend.
• The Wildcats topped Quinnipiac in overtime, 4-3, on Friday and then shut out Michigan State, 4-0, on Sunday.
• Tasmin Cookman scored three goals and added an assist for a seven-point weekend. Her sister, Tamera, was the squads second-leading scorer with five points.
• New Hampshire's eight goals were scored by five different players last weekend.
• Last season, New Hampshire went 10-10 and lost in the semifinal round of the America East Tournament to eventual champion UAlbany.
Scouting Bucknell
• Bucknell comes into this weekend with a 0-2 record with losses to Drexel (4-0) and Temple (2-1).
• The Bison were 5-13 last season and had a 3-3 mark in Patriot League play.
• In July, Lily Neilson was selected as the Patriot League preseason Player of the Year. She's coming off a 2022 season in which she scored 14 goals and was the league's Offensive Player of the Year.
Scouting UC Davis
• UC Davis began its season by dropping a pair of tightly-contested decisions to Rutgers and Miami University, respectively.
• Like Ohio State, the Aggies have a three-game weekend coming up: They face Michigan on Friday, Sept. 1 in Ann Arbor and then are at Kent State on Sunday, Sept. 3.
• UC Davis is under the direction of second-year head coach Austin Pile. Last season, the Aggies were 2-13 overall and picked up a conference win over Bryant.
Statistically Speaking
• Among Big Ten teams played that played three games last weekend, the Buckeyes' nine goals were the most in the league.
• Senior goalie Abby Danson started her 40th career game last Sunday at Lafayette.
• With two goals last weekend, senior Leanne Bough continues to be the Buckeyes' active career leader in points with 41 (18 goals, five assists).
• The Buckeyes have won 13 games at home over the past three seasons.
