COLUMBUS, Ohio – Eight Buckeyes will compete at the 2023 Core Hydration Classic (formerly known as the U.S. Classic) this weekend in Chicago. The senior men's sessions are scheduled for Sunday at 11:45 a.m. ET and 5:45 p.m. ET with both sessions being streamed live on YouTube (links above).

The Buckeyes competing include seniors Kazuki Hayashi and Kameron Nelson, junior Arthur Ashton and sophomores Kristian Grahovski, Jacob Harmon, Jesse Pakele, Caden Spencer and Parker Thackston.

The Buckeyes competing include seniors Kazuki Hayashi and Kameron Nelson, junior Arthur Ashton and sophomores Kristian Grahovski, Jacob Harmon, Jesse Pakele, Caden Spencer and Parker Thackston.
- Kazuki Hayashi finished the 2023 season ranked in the top-25 nationally on floor, vault and high bar, competing in those three events in all but one meet. Hayashi finished in the top-eight in the Big Ten event finals on both floor and high bar, also competing at the NCAA Championships in those two events.
- Kameron Nelson earned three All-American nods at the 2023 NCAA Championships by finishing third on floor, fifth on vault and sixth in the all-around competition. Nelson finished in the top-eight in the finals of the 2023 Cairo World Cup in both the vault and floor. He ranked in the top-10 nationally on floor and vault and was also top-25 on rings. Nelson has already qualified for the USA Championships at the end of the month in San Jose, Calif.
- Arthur Ashton earned a consistent spot in the Buckeyes' rings rotation last season as a sophomore and also competed on pommel horse at the Big Ten Championships and NCAA Qualifiers.
- Kristian Grahovski competed on pommel horse, rings and high bar as a freshman in the spring, finishing the season ranked 17th in the country on pommel horse. Grahovski qualified for the NCAA Championships on rings and competed on pommel horse in every meet.
- Jacob Harmon made appearances in the lineup for floor, vault, parallel bars and high bar during his freshman campaign, finishing in the top-25 in the country on vault and competing floor/vault in every meet. Harmon qualified for the NCAA Championships on parallel bars.
- Jesse Pakele wrapped up his freshman campaign ranking in the top-25 nationally on floor, finishing in the top-10 in the Big Ten individual event finals as well. Pakele also competed on pommel horse last season.
- Caden Spencer earned All-American status on high bar by finishing fourth at the NCAA Championships as a freshman this past spring. Spencer ranked in the top-25 nationally on high bar, parallel bars, vault and floor, with his high bar average in the top-five. He qualified for the NCAA Championships on both floor and high bar and finished fourth in the Big Ten event finals on high bar.
- Parker Thackston qualified for the 2023 NCAA Championships on pommel horse as a freshman and finished the season ranked seventh in the country in the event. Thackston was a constant in the Buckeyes' pommel horse lineup and also finished fifth at the Big Ten Team Championships.Â
