Native of Huizen, Netherlands played in 66 career games at UAlbany
Julie Rodijk brings a lot of things to the table for the 2023 Ohio State Buckeyes. Of them all, big game experience might be the most valuable.
Rodijk has a lot of it. Over the last four years, she played in 66 games for UAlbany. Last season, she helped engineer an overtime upset of Michigan in the first round of the NCAA Tournament that sent the Great Danes within a game of the Final Four.
As an anchor on the UAlbany defense, Rodijk was named second team All-Region in 2021 and 2022 and overall earned three all-region honors in her career. Keeping opponents from scoring wasn't the only thing she did on the field; Rodijk was the only UAlbany defensive player to score a goal over the past two seasons and for her career had 12 goals and three assists for 27 points.
In Columbus, Rodijk will bolster an Ohio State defense that allowed just 14 goals over the final 10 games of last season. She'll have experience around her as well – fifth-year senior Delaney Lawler is back for her final season and goalie Abby Danson is a veteran of 41 games with 38 starts.
