THOUGHTS ON THE MEETS
Sara Mason Vergote: “We dealt with some weather in Knoxville, but I thought our team handled it and competed well. Anytime you walk away from a competition in less-than-ideal conditions with athletes running their personal bests or winning their heats, it’s a great weekend.”
Diego Flaquer: “We dealt with travel issues, but I felt the group came in today and handled their business, especially in the women’s 4x100m relay. They ran a stage-best against a very quality field. Individually, I felt that Jaydan Wood and Zidane Brown both put together very solid performances for their 400m openers of the season. Alyssa Marsh ran a time very close to her PR in the 200m, which is always great to see. There is still lots of work to get done in all aspects, but I’m thankful to have been able to come and get some work in considering all the outside factors that were out of our control.”
UP NEXT
Next weekend, Ohio State travels to the Tom Jones Memorial on Friday and Saturday, hosted by Florida, while other Buckeyes will compete at the Ohio Invite on Saturday.
