
OSU Turns in All-American Relay Performance on Day One of NCAAs

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The No. 5 women’s swimming and diving team is in eighth place after day one at the NCAA Championships. The team has 38 total points. The Buckeyes are the highest-placed Big Ten Team; they lead ninth-place Indiana by four and 17th place Michigan by 32.
Meet Notes
- The Buckeyes started the night strong, placing fourth overall in the 200 medley relay. The team of Nyah Funderburke, Hannah Bach, Katherine Zenick and Teresa Ivan swam the relay in 1:33.93 to earn First Team All-American honors. It is the third-fastest time in program history. This is the fourth straight year that the Buckeyes have placed in the top-four in the 200 medley relay. Their time is 0.02 seconds faster than their time of 1:33.95 at the Big Ten Championships a few weeks ago; Funderburke, Bach, Zenick and Ivan won the event at Big Tens and set a Canham Natatorium pool record in the process.
- Ohio State closed night one with a 13th place finish in the 800 free relay, with the team of Amy Fulmer, Felicia Pasadyn, Zenick and Jessica Eden finishing in 7:01.26 and earning Honorable Mention All-America recognition. It is the fifth-fastest time in program history.

- The NCAA Championships continue Feb. 16-18. Prelims will begin at 10:00 a.m. each morning, with finals to follow at 6:00 p.m. Tomorrow’s finals sessions will consist of the 500 free, 200 IM, 50 free, 1-meter dive and 200 free relay. All sessions can be streamed live on ESPN+.
