
Ohio State Wins Five Medals on Night Two of B1Gs

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The No. 5 Ohio State women’s swimming and diving team earned five medals, including three gold, on the second night of the Big Ten Championships. The Buckeyes are in first place with 441 points.
Meet Notes
- Josie Panitz earned the first victory of the night in the 200 IM with a Canham Natatorium pool record time of 1:54.96. It is the second-fastest time in program history and an NCAA B cut time. Paige Hall placed eighth in the A-final with an NCAA B cut time of 1:57.45.

- Ohio State swept the 50 free podium and took four of the top five places. Katherine Zenick won gold, finishing in 21.85. Amy Fulmer claimed the silver medal with a time of 21.86 and Teresa Ivan won bronze with a time of 21.87. Nyah Funderburke finished in fifth place with a time of 21.95. All four times are NCAA B cut times. Zenick’s time tied the third-fastest time in program history; Fulmer’s time is the fourth-fastest time and Ivan’s time is the fifth-fastest.

- Catherine Russo finished first in the 50 free B-final; she touched the wall at 22.04, which is an NCAA B standard time.
- The Buckeyes closed out the night with a gold-medal performance in the 400 medley relay. The relay team of Katherine Zenick, Nyah Funderburke, Hannah Bach and Amy Fulmer placed first, setting a Canham Natatorium pool record of 3:26.68 in the process. It is the second-quickest time in program history and an NCAA A standard time.

- Maya Geringer finished second in the B-final of the 500 free with an NCAA B standard time of 4:42.98 and Gwen Woodbury finished third in the C-final with an NCAA B cut time of 4:45.87.
- Jessica Eden finished third in the B-final of the 200 IM, finishing in an NCAA B cut time of 1:58.87. Aislinn Walsh placed seventh in the B-final with a time of 1:59.65.
- Lena Hentschel and Ciara McGing placed sixth and eighth, respectively, in the B-final of the 1-meter dive. Hentschel earned a score of 281.85 and McGing had an overall score of 268.25; both are NCAA Zones qualifying scores.
