
Chandler’s 66 Leads Buckeyes Up the Leaderboard at PRC

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State senior Jackson Chandler tied his career-low with a 6-under 66 on Monday to lead the Buckeyes’ charge up the leaderboard on day two of the Puerto Rico Classic.
As a team, the Buckeyes shot the best round of the day, a 13-under 275 to pull even with Oklahoma at 14-under par. They trail East Tennessee State by five shots headed to the final round.
Chandler made seven birdies and just one bogey in his round on Monday. The seven birdies are tied for his most in a round in his career, matching his second round at the Frederica Cup in the fall. He is now 7-under for the tournament and just two shots off the lead. Chandler is seeking his first collegiate victory.
Maxwell Moldovan followed his opening round of 72 with a four-under 68 on Monday. He made four birdies and an eagle in his round. He is tied for 15th at 4-under par.
Neal Shipley was 3-over par through 11 holes on Monday but rallied to play his final six holes in five under-par with three birdies and an eagle to post a 2-under 70. He is a shot behind Moldovan at 3-under par.
Adam Wallin was the fourth Buckeye under-par as he finished with a 1-under 71. Tyler Groomes made three birdies and an eagle on Tuesday but would finish with a 78. Jacob Tarkany, who is playing as an individual, carded a 74 and is 5-over for the event.
The Buckeyes are paired with ETSU and Oklahoma for the final round which gets underway with a 6:30 a.m. ET shotgun start. Follow along on Golfstat.
