
Ohio State Turns in Strong Performances on Final Day of Winter Invite

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The men’s and women’s swimming teams closed out the regular season with more strong performances on the final day of the Ohio State Winter Invitational.
Men’s Meet Notes
- Jonathan Edwards won the 1650 free with an NCAA B standard time of 15:06.33. Charlie Clark placed second with an NCAA B cut time of 15:13.84.
- Brandon Day earned a first-place finish in the 200 back, touching at 1:45.34.
- Jack Burroughs and Jay Johnson finished 1-2 in the 100 free. Burroughs had a time of 44.47 and Johnson had a time of 44.48.
- Nathan Holty won the 200 breast with a time of 1:58.74. Rylan McDaniel (2:00.91) placed third and Michael Cooper (2:01.07) finished fourth.
- Luke Paxton placed second in the 200 fly, finishing in 1:46.97. Evan Fentress placed third with a time of 1:48.62.
- The Buckeyes picked up a win in the 400 free relay with the team of Day, Fentress, Johnson and Burroughs swimming the event in 3:00.51.
Women’s Meet Notes
- Sanna Peterson won the 1650 free with a time of 16:53.74. Clair Pophal (16:55.70) and Mia Lachey (17:10.64) placed third and fourth, respectively.
- Libby Gilbert placed first in the 200 back, finishing in 1:55.82, which is an NCAA B standard time.
- Mairin O’Brien finished third in the 100 free with a time of 50.97. Kennady Kilger placed fourth with a time of 50.98.
- Annie Krusinski earned a third-place finish in the 200 fly with a time of 2:02.05.
- The relay team of Gilbert, Kilger, Lachey and Peterson finished second in the 400 free relay, finishing in 3:27.61.

- The Big Ten Championships, which will be held in Ann Arbor, Mich., are up next for the Buckeyes. The women will compete Feb. 15-18 and the men will be in action Feb. 22-25.
