
Buckeyes Fall to Northwestern 69-63

COLUMBUS, Ohio – In a closely contested Big Ten matchup, Ohio State dropped a 69-63 decision to visiting Northwestern on Thursday evening at Value City Arena.
Neither team lead by double figures throughout the entirety of the contest. The Buckeye’s largest lead of the game was six, while Northwestern led by as many as nine (61-52) with 4:44 to play in the contest.
Offensively, senior Justice Sueing paced the Buckeye effort, totaling 19 points on 7-of-11 shooting while adding eight rebounds and a pair of assists. Freshman Bruce Thornton added 12 points and three assists while junior Zed Key came two points shy of a double-double with eight points and 10 rebounds.
The difference on the night came from behind the three-point line as the Wildcats outscored the Buckeyes by 33 points from deep. Ohio State still held the advantage in field-goal percentage, shooting 50% from the field, while holding a 35-24 edge on the boards.
