Emily Londot has earned a spot on the AVCA All-Region Team all four seasons.
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced the 2023 regional awards on Tuesday. Senior outside hitter Emily Londot was named to the AVCA All-Region Team for the fourth time in her career. Last week, Londot was a unanimous selection for the All-Big Ten First Team. Â
Londot led the Big Ten in both kills/set (5.06) and points/set (5.51) during the regular season and during conference play (5.15 kills/set and 5.65 points/set). She is the only Big Ten player to eclipse more than 5.0 kills/set during either the regular season or Big Ten matches and she did so in both. Londot ranks in the top-eight in the country in five categories – fourth in kills/set, fourth in total kills (546), fifth in points/set, seventh in attacks (1,402) and eighth in total points (595.0). Â
Among single-season program rankings, Londot finished in the top-14 in those same five categories – eighth in kills/set, ninth in total kills, ninth in attacks, 10th in points/set and 14th in points. She posted a career-high 36 kills and 39.5 points in a four-set win in the season finale. Both of these totals were the most recorded by a Buckeye in a match since 2004 with 36 kills tying for the fifth-most in program history and 39.5 points tying for the sixth-most in program history. Her 36 kills was the most in a match by a Big Ten player in 2023 as she's only of only two Big Ten players to eclipse the 30-kill mark in a match this season. Â
Londot wrapped up the season recording double-figure kills in 26 matches, surpassing 20 kills in 13 matches and earning 13 double-doubles. She was also named Preseason All-Big Ten, Big Ten Player of the Week on August 28 and to the NKU All-Tournament Team. Â
