COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 12/11 Ohio State women's basketball team (8-1, 1-0 B1G) hosts Grand Valley State (7-0, 1-0 GLIAC) on Friday evening for a 6 p.m. tip. The game will be broadcast on B1G+ and 1460AM.
Friday is superhero night and Buckeye Club appreciation night. Fans are encouraged to dress up in their best costumes and take advantage of a photo opportunity on the concourse with superheroes before the game. Our local superheroes (first responders, military, nurses, doctors) can receive a discounted ticket on Friday at the ticket office by showing their badge/work ID. These community superheroes will be honored at halftime.

- Ohio State holds an 8-1 overall record and a 1-0 Big Ten record after winning its Big Ten opener against No. 25/RV Penn State by a 94-84 margin in overtime on Sunday after trailing by as many as 13 points in the third quarter.
- Jacy Sheldon (31) and Cotie McMahon (27) each scored their season-highs, while Celeste Taylor recorded her second double-double (13p/11r) within a week against a ranked opponent. The Buckeyes won the rebounding battle, 41-36, and got to the line 42 times. They also forced 20 Penn State turnovers.
- McMahon was named to the Big Ten weekly honor roll on Monday after averaging more than 20 points per game and 7.5 rebounds last week.
- Grand Valley State enters the game with a perfect 7-0 record this season after winning its conference opener against Davenport by a 66-44 mark this past Friday.
- GVSU has also beaten Missouri-St. Louis, Maryville, Findlay, Central State, Northwood and D'Youville this season with five double-digit victories. The Lakers hit the century mark against Central State (113-56) on Nov. 18 in their biggest win of the season.
- Ellie Droste leads the GVSU offense with 12.0 points per game, while Rylie Bisballe (8.6 rpg) leads the team on the boards. The Lakers are outscoring their opponents by an average score of 72.6-50.1 per game and are also averaging 12.1 rebounds per game more than their opponents (43.7-31.6).
- Ohio State and Grand Valley State have played only one time previously with that meeting happening on March 11, 1976. GVSU earned the 61-58 win in the MAIAW Tournament, hosted in Mt. Pleasant, Mich.
