
Quartet Selected Captains for the Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Four Buckeyes have been selected captains for the 2024 Ohio State women's lacrosse team, first-year head coach Amanda Moore announced. Leading the Buckeyes this year will be seniors Regan Alexander, Jamie Lasda, Emily Magalotti and Leah Sax.

Alexander, from Orlando, Fla., is now a two-time captain. She has seen action in 35 games in the Scarlet and Gray and has 31 starts, including in 16-of-17 games a season ago (with the lone exception Senior Night) and her final 15 games as a sophomore. Last year Alexander was among the NCAA and Big Ten leaders in save percentage and saves per game. She is a three-time Ohio State Scholar-Athlete and a two-time Academic All-Big Ten selection.

A native of Ithaca, N.Y., Lasda plays attack for the Buckeyes. She earned Second Team All-Big Ten accolades in 2023 after leading Ohio State with 30 assists and 57 points and ranking second with 27 goals (all career highs). She was Top 7 in the Big Ten in assists and points per game last year. She enters her senior year with 107 career points, on 64 goals and 43 assists, in 42 games played. Lasda is a three-time Ohio State Scholar-Athlete, a two-time Academic All-Big Ten and Big Ten Distinguished Scholar honoree and was named to the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll in 2023.

Magalotti, a midfielder who calls Wyomissing, Pa., home, is in her second season at Ohio State. She started all 17 games last year on defense and had 30 ground balls, 13 draw controls and 14 caused turnovers. Magalotti spent two years at North Carolina and was part of the squad that won the 2022 NCAA Championship. Â Â

Sax, who hails from Philadelphia, plays attack for the Buckeyes. She scored her first career goal last season and has seen action in three games. Sax has earned Big Ten Distinguished Scholar and Academic All-Big Ten honors the last two years, is a three-time Ohio State Scholar-Athlete and was named to the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll last year.
