Buckeyes Head to Western Invitational in Colorado

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Ohio State fencing program is heading to Colorado for the Western Invitational hosted by Air Force Friday and Saturday.

The Buckeyes will be joined by the host Falcons, Brandeis, Columbia, Harvard, Incarnate Word, North Carolina, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Stanford and UC San Diego.

The Buckeyes This Season
Both the Ohio State men and women are 5-0 this year, with the first team event the OSU Duals in early October. The squad also hosted the OSU Open and competed at the Garret Penn State Open Oct. 21-22.

In the Rankings
The USFCA released its preseason coaches' polls this week. The Ohio State men are ranked fourth, with the women tied for fifth.

On the men's side, Notre Dame is ranked first. Columbia is second, Princeton third and Harvard fifth. For the women, Princeton is on top, followed by No. 2 Notre Dame, No. 3 Columbia and No. 4 Harvard. Northwestern is tied with Ohio State for fifth.

Elite Invitational Up Next
Ohio State will wrap up the 2023 portion of its schedule with the Elite Invitational Nov. 19 in French Field House. Admission is free, with free parking on the south side of the facility. Ohio State will welcome many of the nation's top teams for the dual event.

2024 Slate includes NCAA Championships in Columbus

The first events of the new year will be the St. John's Invitational Jan. 20 and the Philadelphia Invitational the following day.
The Northwestern Duals wrap up the regular season Feb. 3-4.
The Central Collegiate Fencing Championships are slated for Feb. 24-25 and the NCAA Regionals are set for March 9 in Detroit hosted by Wayne State.
Ohio State will host the 2024 NCAA Championships March 21-24 in French Field House.
