Emily Londot, Rylee Rader and Sarah Sue Morbitzer were honored by the conference for their play this season.
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Big Ten Conference announced its end of season awards on Thursday, following the conclusion of the regular season this past weekend. A trio of Buckeye seniors received Big Ten honors with Emily Londot being a unanimous choice for All-Big Ten First Team, Rylee Rader being selected to the All-Big Ten Second Team and Sarah Sue Morbitzer being named Ohio State's Sportsmanship Honoree. Londot and Rader are both four-time All-Big Ten selections.
Londot leads the Big Ten in both kills/set (5.06) and points/set (5.51) during the regular season and during conference play (5.15 kills/set and 5.65 points/set). She is the only Big Ten player to eclipse more than 5.0 kills/set during either the regular season or Big Ten matches and she did so in both. Londot ranks in the top-eight in the country in five categories – fourth in kills/set, fourth in total kills (546), fifth in points/set, seventh in attacks (1,402) and eighth in total points (595.0). Among single-season program rankings, Londot finished in the top-14 in those same five categories – eighth in kills/set, ninth in total kills, ninth in attacks, 10th in points/set and 14th in points. She posted a career-high 36 kills and 39.5 points in a four-set win in the season finale. Both of these totals were the most recorded by a Buckeye in a match since 2004 with 36 kills tying for the fifth-most in program history and 39.5 points tying for the sixth-most in program history. Her 36 kills was the most in a match by a Big Ten player in 2023 as she's only of only two Big Ten players to eclipse the 30-kill mark in a match this season. Londot wrapped up the season recording double-figure kills in 26 matches, surpassing 20 kills in 13 matches and earning 13 double-doubles. She was also named Preseason All-Big Ten, Big Ten Player of the Week on August 28 and to the NKU All-Tournament Team.
Rader wrapped up the season ranking fourth in the Big Ten in hitting percentage (.377) and second in the Big Ten in hitting percentage during conference matches (.401). Also against Big Ten opponents, she ranks eighth in the B1G in aces/set (0.38). Her hitting percentage this season consistently ranked in the top-50 in the country and is sixth among the Buckeyes' single-season program records. The Preseason All-Big Ten selection wrapped up the season with seven matches of 10+ kills.
Morbitzer concluded her Buckeye career with career-highs in nearly every category – digs (260), digs/set (2.41), assists (56), assists/set (0.52), kills (4), points (24.0) and points/set (0.22) after stepping into the libero role midway through the season. Her strong senior season pushed her career average to 2.02 digs/set and digs total to 498. Morbitzer had 11 matches with 10+ digs this season, 10 of which came against Big Ten opponents. She recorded a career-high 24 digs on senior night in a four-set match.
