Ohio State Leads From Start to Finish Against Oklahoma State

The Buckeyes earned the 75-57 win on Wednesday in the Bahamas and never trailed.

NASSAU, Bahamas – The No. 15/12 Ohio State Buckeyes (4-1) beat Oklahoma State (2-3) by a 75-57 margin on Wednesday evening to wrap up action at the Pink Flamingo Championship. The Buckeyes led from start to finish.
Ohio State scored the first eight points and led 24-13 after the first quarter. Oklahoma State chipped away in a back-and-forth second quarter but the Buckeyes took a 36-30 lead into the locker room. The Cowgirls got as close as five points during the third quarter before Ohio State increased the lead to 54-44 after 30 minutes. The Buckeyes won the fourth quarter, 21-13, to wrap up scoring at 75-57.
Cotie McMahon reached 10 points when Oklahoma State had two as a team and finished with 14 points on the night. Jacy Sheldon (22) and Taylor Thierry (16) have scored in double figures in all five games this season. Thierry added a career-high 14 rebounds for Ohio State's first double-double of the season.
How it Happened
Ohio State started quickly with the first eight points in less than two minutes. The Buckeyes stretched their lead to 16 points at 18-2 with 5:16 remaining. OSU held the 24-13 advantage after 10 minutes and shot 50 percent from the floor.
Oklahoma State opened second quarter scoring with a pair of jumpers. Scoring was back and forth throughout the quarter as neither team scored more than four unanswered points. Ohio State led by a 36-30 margin going into the locker room.
The Buckeyes scored the first four points of the third quarter and used a 6-0 run to increase their lead to 46-32 with 5:44 remaining in the quarter, prompting an Oklahoma State timeout. The Cowgirls scored the next six points to cut their deficit to 48-43 with 1:47 to play in the quarter as the Buckeyes called timeout. Ohio State scored six-unanswered points out of the timeout and led 54-44 at the end of the quarter.
Scoring was back-and-forth to begin the fourth quarter as the Buckeyes led 63-50 midway through the quarter. Ohio State scored eight of the final 11 points to cap scoring at 75-57 on a pair of Sheldon free throws.
