Ohio State used five double-figure scorers to earn a 79-55 win on Monday in the Bahamas.

NASSAU, Bahamas – The No. 13/10 Ohio State Buckeyes (3-1) beat East Carolina (2-2) by a 79-55 margin on Monday afternoon in its first game of the Pink Flamingo Championship.
Ohio State scored the first 10 points of the game and held a 21-11 advantage after 10 minutes. ECU got as close as one point in the second quarter before OSU extended its lead back to six, 38-32, at halftime. Ohio State used a 24-12 third quarter to increase the lead to 62-44 after 30 minutes.
Jacy Sheldon was the first to double figures with 12 first-half points on her way to 20 points total. Taylor Thierry finished with 14 points today as both her and Sheldon have scored in double figures in all four games this season. Cotie McMahon (11), Rebeka Mikulášiková (12) and Rikki Harris (11) rounded out Ohio State's double-figure scorers.
How it Happened
Ohio State scored the first 10 points of the game and held East Carolina scoreless for nearly five minutes. The Buckeyes maintained the 10-point advantage after a Sheldon layup made it 15-5 with 3:14 remaining. Diana Collins wrapped up first-quarter scoring at the free-throw line as OSU held the 21-11 advantage.
The teams traded three-pointers to open the second quarter before a 6-0 ECU run got the Pirates within four at 24-20 with 7:42 to play in the half. ECU used back-to-back baskets to cut its deficit to 31-30 but OSU responded by scoring the next five and took a 38-32 lead into the locker room.
The Buckeyes scored the first four points of the second as Thierry reached double figures. ECU called timeout after OSU extended its lead to double figures at 45-34 with 6:31 remaining in the quarter. Ohio State led by as many as 21 at 62-41 with 1:05 to play in the quarter following a triple from Rikki Harris. The Buckeyes held the 62-44 lead after 30 minutes.
ECU scored first in the fourth quarter from the free throw line. OSU didn't score more than five unanswered points and ECU didn't score more than three at a time during the quarter as the teams traded points. Taiyier Parks capped scoring at 79-55 with a layup.

- Q3: OSU was 4-of-7 (.571) from long range, including a perfect 3-of-3 from Harris, and didn't allow a three-pointer in the third quarter.
- Q4: The Buckeyes again shot better than 50 percent from the floor (.556) and was 3-of-4 (.750) from long range and forced ECU to shoot just nine percent from the floor.
