Ohio State Hosts Elite Invitational Sunday

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men and women's fencing squads will host the Elite Invitational Sunday in French Field House. Admission and parking (on the south side of the building) are free and round one begins at 8:30 a.m. A live stream will be available throughout the day HERE and results will be posted on the fencing page on OhioStateBuckeyes.com following each round.

Ohio State will welcome 10 schools to the event, which includes seven rounds of dual matches. Joining the Buckeyes will be Air Force, Cleveland State, Denison, Duke, North Carolina, Northwestern, Notre Dame, UPenn, Princeton and Stanford.

In the USFCA Division I Preseason Women's Coaches' poll, Princeton is No. 1, with Notre Dame No. 2, Ohio State and Northwestern tied for fifth, UPenn No. 7, Duke No. 9, Stanford No. 14 and Air Force No. 15. Denison is No. 7 in the D III rankings. On the men's side, Notre Dame is No. 1, Princeton is No. 3, Ohio State is No. 4, UPenn is No. 7 and Duke is No. 9.

Round 1 (8:30-9:45 a.m.) – Princeton
Round 2 (9:50-11 a.m.) – Air Force
Round 3 (11:05 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.) – Duke

The Buckeyes this Season
Ohio State's men are 12-1 this year, while the women are 11-1. The squads started the year with 5-0 records at the OSU Open. Last time out, the Buckeyes traveled to the Western Invitational hosted by Air Force. The men were 7-1 in the two-day event, with the women 6-1.

The other competitions so far this season have been individual events, with the OSU Open Oct. 1 and the Garret Open at Penn State Oct. 21-22.

- The first events of the new year will be the St. John's Invitational Jan. 20 and the Philadelphia Invitational the following day.
- The Northwestern Duals wrap up the regular season Feb. 3-4.
- The Central Collegiate Fencing Championships are slated for Feb. 24-25 in Columbus and the NCAA Regionals are set for March 9 in Detroit hosted by Wayne State.
- Ohio State will host the 2024 NCAA Championships March 21-24 in French Field House and St. John Arena.
