COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women's volleyball team (10-14, 7-8 B1G) travels to Maryland (15-11, 5-9 B1G) for a Sunday matinee. First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m. in a match broadcast on B1G+.
- Ohio State enters the match with a 10-14 record this season and a 7-8 record in Big Ten play after a sweep (25-22, 26-24, 27-25) against Michigan State on Wednesday night inside the Covelli Center. Emily Londot paced the match with 16 kills and a career-high five aces, adding 14 digs for her 12th double-double of the season. Mia Tuman also earned a double-double with 28 assists and 10 digs.
- Londot continues to lead Ohio State's offense and the Big Ten in kills/set (4.88) and points/set (5.32). She's among the top-seven in the country in both categories as of Thursday. Londot earned the second 20 kill/20 dig match of her career on Saturday vs. Indiana with 25 kills and tied a career-high 21 digs.
- Lauren Murphy leads OSU with 32 aces, ranking third in the B1G with 0.44 aces/set after a career-high seven aces against Minnesota on Nov. 3.
- Tuman ranks fifth in the Big Ten in assists/set (9.58) and broke into the top-20 in program history on 10/21, now ranking 17th with 795 assists. She earned Big Ten Co-Freshman of the Week honors on Monday.
- Maryland enters the weekend with a 15-11 overall record and is 5-9 in Big Ten play. The Terrapins are slated to host No. 2 Wisconsin on Friday evening.
- Since the Terps and Bucks last met, Maryland holds wins against then No. 16 Minnesota and two against Iowa, while dropping contests to Indiana, Northwestern, then No. 1 Wisconsin, Illinois, No. 1 Nebraska, Michigan State and Michigan.
- Sam Csire leads a trio of Maryland players averaging 2.0+ kills/set with 2.79 and ranks ninth in the B1G in aces/set (0.33). Anastasia Russ (.360 hit%) and Eva Rohrbach (1.16 blocks/set) each rank seventh in the conference, while Sydney Dowler's 9.04 assists/set is eighth. Lilly Gunter is averaging 3.62 digs/set, which is good for ninth in the B1G.
- Ohio State leads 17-6 in the all-time series against Maryland but only has the 5-4 edge when facing the Terrapins in College Park.
- This is the second meeting of the season for the Buckeyes and Terps as Ohio State claimed a home sweep (25-23, 25-22, 25-12) on Oct. 1. The OSU defense forced Maryland to hit -.098 in the match as Londot paced all players with 12 kills and Sarah Sue Morbitzer did the same with 13 digs.
