
Ohio State Splits Matches Against Memphis & Morehead State

Buckeyes fire a team score over 4700 for the third consecutive match on Sunday
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State University rifle team posted a team score of 4705 on Saturday and split the matches with Memphis (4710) and Morehead State (4680). The team was led by Derek Keiser who finished with a season-best aggregate score of 1182.
In smallbore, the team fired a score of 2332 led by an overall solid team effort by Derek Keiser (585), Viktor Kiss (583), Paige Hollowell (582), Lillian Warren (582), and Adrienne Hanson (580). John Hamilton put his best smallbore score of the season thus far with a 578 to lead the way for Ohio State's individuals. He was followed by Dylan Gregory (576), Nate Wehrlen (576), Philip Becker (570), Tyler Hanson (573), Eva Horgan (560), and Frank Steyn (560).
In air rifle, the Buckeyes finished with a season best equaling score of 2373 led by a career best equaling score of 597 from Derek Keiser. He was followed by Viktor Kiss and Paige Hollowell who fired season best scores of 596 and 595. Lillian Warren (585) and Adrienne Hanson (574) rounded out team scoring. John Hamilton again led the way for Ohio State's individuals with a score of 586. He was followed by Tyler Hanson (584), Eva Horgan (583), Dylan Gregory (583), Frank Steyn (581), Nate Wehrlen (576), and Philip Becker (576) who rounded out individual scoring.
Coach Tanoue: "It was great to host of our first home match of the season on Sunday and the team put together a solid day and the 4705 was the third consecutive score over 4700 which is a program first. Our current NCAA 3 Score Average after four matches is 4709.33 which is also a program record. We are going to have four more opportunities over the next three weeks to continue to improve and I am extremely excited to see where this team will go as the season progresses."
Ohio State will return to action next Saturday, November 4 at the Hugh W. Wylie Range against Murray State and UTEP.
