The Buckeyes are now 2-1-2 on the year, with the Wolverines 3-2-1. The squads will face off in Columbus Feb. 2-3.

Quoting Head Coach Steve Rohlik
"I liked our response tonight. We did a lot of good things. It's back to work on Monday - we have to keep getting better."
  Â
The Short Story
The Buckeyes took a 1-0 lead at 13:02 of the first period on a Patrick Guzzo power play goal assisted by Scooter Brickey and Theo Wallberg. The Scarlet and Gray carried the advantage until the third period, when two Michigan power play goals in less than three minutes (at 5:07 and 7:41) gave the Wolverines the lead, 2-1. Three Buckeye rookies – Ryan Gordon, Sam Deckhut and Thomas Weis, with Gordon scoring – generated a goal at 15:01 to deadlock the score. Neither team was able to find the back of the net the rest of the way. In the five-minute 3x3 overtime, Buckeye goalie Logan Terness made six saves, with Ohio State putting one shot on net.
Â
There were no goals in the first two rounds of the shootout. Stephen Halliday scored for Ohio State to start round three and the Wolverines answered. Neither team was able to score in the fourth round. In the fifth round, Gordon tallied and Terness made a save to secure the shootout win. Â
Â
Michigan outshot the Buckeyes, 44-37, in the game. Terness had 42 saves in all 65 minutes (along with three saves in the shootout). Ohio State blocked 27 Michigan shot attempts. Scooter Brickey had a team-high four, while John Larkin, Theo Wallberg and Damien Carfagna each had three.
Â
The Buckeyes were 1-for-2 on the power play, with UM 2-for-3. Â
