- The Buckeyes are in sixth place in the Big Ten standings with two matches to play. Rutgers and Michigan are tied for eighth, just three points behind the Buckeyes. The top eight teams at the end of the regular season qualify for the Big Ten Tournament.
- Ohio State has yet to beat Rutgers as the Scarlet Knights lead the all-time series 10-0-2. That includes a 9-0-2 mark since Rutgers joined the league in 2014.
- Last year, Rutgers won 2-0 in Piscataway in the Big Ten opener for each team. The last meeting in Columbus was on Oct. 3, 2021, when the Scarlet Knights won 2-1. Kailyn Dudukovich, then a freshman, scored the Buckeyes' goal in the 14th minute.
- The Buckeyes are coming off a great 1-0 victory on Sunday at No. 12 Wisconsin. After a scoreless first half, Dudukovich slipped a shot past the Badger keeper in the 59th minute to provide the game-winning goal. The Buckeye defense only allowed one shot attempt over the final 30 minutes to seal the win.
- Dudukovich now has 10 goals on year and is the 16th player in program history with double-digit goals in a season. She is the first since Sammy Edwards had 10 goals in the 2017 season.
- Sophomore goalkeeper Molly Pritchard recorded her third shutout of the season in the win at Wisconsin on Sunday. She has made 54 saves on the year.
- Rutgers has had a bit of an up-and-down year and enters the final week at 7-6-3 overall and 3-4-1 in the Big Ten. The four conference losses are tied for the most since Rutgers joined the Big Ten in 2014. The Scarlet Knights are coming off a 2-0 loss at home to Michigan State on Sunday.
- Head coach Lori Walker-Hock secured her 300th career victory at Maryland. She is now the 33rd active coach with 300 career victories. 290 of her 303 wins have come as a Buckeye as this is her 27th year at Ohio State and her 29th year overall.
