COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women's volleyball team (6-9, 3-3 B1G) hosts Illinois (7-9, 2-4 B1G) and No. 15 Purdue (10-5, 4-2 B1G) this weekend inside Covelli. The match against Illinois is scheduled for Friday at 7 p.m., while the match against No. 15 Purdue is a 1 p.m. Sunday matinee. Both matches will be broadcast live on B1G+.

Friday's match is the Buckeyes' mental health awareness match and Sunday is the pink match. On Sunday, donations will benefit the James and survivors will be recognized between the second and third sets. The first 2,000 fans on Sunday will receive pink poms.

- Ohio State enters the match with a 6-9 record this season and a 3-3 record in Big Ten play after a marathon five-set loss (23-25, 25-23, 25-20, 21-25, 7-15) at No. 14 Penn State on Saturday night in Rec Hall.Â
- Senior Emily Londot continues to lead Ohio State's offense as she's second the conference in kills/set (4.57) and is third in points/set (5.01), ranking in the top-15 in the country in both categories as of Tuesday. Freshman Mia Tuman ranks fifth in the Big Ten in assists/set (9.34).
- Freshman Kaitlyn Hoffman has excelled after stepping into the libero role and is now averaging 3.39 digs/set, while freshman Eloise Brandewie leads the Buckeye block with 51 total (0.91 blocks/set) after a career-best seven blocks in the past three matches.
- Illinois enters the match with a 7-9 overall record and is 2-4 in Big Ten matches after getting swept by No. 1 Wisconsin and No. 19 Purdue last weekend. Previously in Big Ten play, the Fighting Illini have beaten Iowa and Michigan State in conference play and lost to Indiana and Penn State.
- Other Illinois wins this season include Northern Illinois, Valpo, Illinois State, UIC and Bradley.
- Raina Terry leads the conference in kills/set (4.62) and points/set (5.25), while Brooke Mosher ranks eighth in the Big Ten in assists/set (8.95). Cari Bohm and Kennedy Collins rank ninth and 10th, respectively, in the Big Ten among blockers with 1.16 and 1.15 per set. Lily Barry is averaging 3.03 digs/set to lead the Illinois back-row defense.
- Illinois leads 45-43 in the all-time series against Ohio State, though the series is tied at 18 when the teams play in Columbus.
- The Buckeyes enter the match having won the last four against the Fighting Illini, including a home sweep (25-10, 25-23, 25-23) last October in the teams' lone meeting of 2022. Â
- Illinois' most recent win in the series came in four sets (21-25, 25-23, 25-14, 25-16) on Nov. 24, 2019 against an unranked Buckeye squad.
- No. 15 Purdue is 10-5 overall and 4-2 in Big Ten play so far this season. The Boilermakers face Indiana on the road tonight at 6 p.m.
- The Boilermakers are 3-2 against ranked opponents this season, earning wins against then No. 23 Kansas, No. 19 Marquette and No. 19 Kentucky and falling to No. 18 Creighton and No. 2 Nebraska. Purdue owns sweeps against Rutgers, Illinois and Iowa and a four-set win against Maryland as well as a five-set loss to Northwestern.
- Chloe Chicoine (3.93) and Eva Hudson (3.90) rank fourth and fifth, respectively, in the Big Ten in kills/set, while setter Taylor Anderson is sixth in the conference in assists/set (9.18). Maddie Schermerhorn is second in the conference with 4.21 digs/set and Raven Colvin is fifth in blocking (1.30/set).
- Ohio State and Purdue have each won 46 matches in the all-time series. OSU has the 23-16 advantage when facing the Boilermakers in Columbus.
- This is the lone meeting of the season between OSU and Purdue.
- Last season, the teams met only once with Ohio State earning a 3-1 road win (25-14, 23-25, 25-16, 25-13) on Nov. 10, 2022. Each team won on its home court during the 2021 season.Â
