COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State hits the road this week for the final regular season road trip, and it starts at Minnesota on Thursday evening. The game will begin at 7 p.m. and will be streamed on B1G+.
- Minnesota holds a slim 13-12-4 lead in the all-time series between the two programs.
- The last meeting between the teams was in 2021 when the Golden Gophers claimed a 4-2 victory in Columbus. Kailyn Dudukovich led the Buckeyes and scored in the 17th and 22nd minute to give Ohio State a 2-0 lead in the first half. The Golden Gophers answered with four goals over the final 65 minutes for the 4-2 win.
- The last Buckeye win in Minneapolis came in 2017 when Ohio State scored two goals in the first 15 minutes and went on to a 2-1 victory. Nikki Walts and Sammy Edwards had the Buckeyes' goals.
- On Sunday, Ohio State outplayed No. 4 Penn State for the majority of the game but would fall for the first time in the last four matches, losing 2-1. The Buckeyes are now 7-4-2 overall and 3-2-1 in Big Ten play. Senior captain Payton McNamara played a beautiful left-footed volley and scored her first goal of the season.
- Minnesota enters the week at 5-4-4 overall and 1-3-2 in the conference. Last Sunday, the Golden Gophers defeated Illinois 3-1 after not having won a game since a 5-0 victory against St. Thomas earlier in the season. Graduate student Megan Nemec assisted all three goals for Minnesota against Illinois, which marked the most assists for the Golden Gophers in a single game since 2017.
- 11 different Buckeyes have scored a goal this season and 16 have registered at least one point.
- Junior forward Kailyn Dudukovich leads the team with nine goals and four assists for 22 points.
- Head coach Lori Walker-Hock secured her 300th career victory at Maryland. She is now the 33rd active coach with 300 career victories. 289 of her 302 wins have come as a Buckeye as this is her 27th year at Ohio State and her 29th year overall.
