Buckeyes Fall 2-0 at Minnesota
10/12/2023 9:22:00 PM | Women's Soccer
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State hit the road for its final regular season road trip, and it started with a 2-0 setback at Minnesota on Thursday night in the wind and rain.
The Buckeyes are now 7-5-2 overall on the season and 3-3-1 in the Big Ten.
How it Happened
Minnesota opened the scoring just a couple of minutes in as they pin-balled the ball around before finding the back of the net. The Buckeyes had a number of solid chances over the first 45 minutes but wasn't able to convert.
The rain picked up after halftime and made things difficult. The Buckeyes again generated scoring chances but just couldn't find the equalizer. With the Buckeyes pushing forward, Minnesota was also to add a second goal late to provide the final margin.
Emma Sears led the team with a season-high four shots on goal. Goalkeeper Molly Pritchard also tied a season-high with six saves.
Up Next
The Buckeyes continue the road trip and will head to Wisconsin this weekend for a game with the No. 12 Badgers on Sunday afternoon. Kick is set for 2 p.m. ET and the game will be streamed on B1G+.
