COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men's and women's fencing teams were both 5-0 in the OSU Duals Sunday in French Field House in Columbus. Each squad defeated Oberlin, Case Western, Purdue, Michigan and Michigan State.

Ohio State Men

In the morning, the Buckeyes topped Oberlin, 27-0, Case Western, 26-1, and Purdue, 21-6. The second session featured Ohio State wins over Michigan, 20-7, and Michigan State, 24-3.
The Buckeye men were a combined 41-4 in saber, 39-6 in foil and 38-7 in epee, with all three squads undefeated.
In saber, Samuel Righter was a team-best 10-1, while Aaron Buergenthal was 9-1. Both Hank Bauer and Vincent Haney notched 7-0 marks.
The foil squad was led by Isaac Ariza, who posted a 14-1 record on the day. Samuel Freedman was 9-1 and Craigh Upton was 8-2.
Ayush Shah was 12-0 and Anitya Kumar was 12-3 to pace men's epee. Clark Kokenge won eight of his nine epee bouts.

Ohio State Women

The women started the day with a 27-0 win over Oberlin before downing both Case Western and Purdue 26-1. In the afternoon, Ohio State topped Michigan 26-1 and defeated Michigan State, 23-4.
All three squads were undefeated. Foil did not drop a point (45-0), while saber was 43-2 and epee was 40-5.
In saber, Maria Alexe and Katherine Larimer were both 11-0 and Hamsika Arnipalli was 9-2.
Raiyan Moradi-Bidhendi was 6-0 in foil, while Anna Heiser and Sydney Brush both posted 5-0 marks.
Sally Fan was 6-2 to lead epee in wins, with Julia Semikin 5-0, Cara Santos 5-3 and Talia Weiss 3-0.
