COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State is in the middle of a stretch of three games in seven days as they head to Lincoln to take on Nebraska for the two team’s lone meeting this season. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. ET at Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Neb. and it will be televised on BTN. Kevin Kugler and Shon Morris will call the action.
- The Buckeyes are 20-5 all-time against Nebraska and 16-3 since the Cornhuskers joined the Big Ten Conference prior to the 2011-12 season. They have won in each of their last five trips to Lincoln.
- Last season, the teams split a pair of meetings as each team won on the other’s home court. The Buckeyes won 87-79 in overtime on Jan. 2 in Lincoln as freshman Malaki Branham broke-out with an OSU freshman Big Ten record 35 points on 6-of-10 from long range. In the second meeting, Nebraska was able to withstand a 27-point, 14-rebound and 6-block effort from E.J. Liddell in a 78-70 win in Columbus on March 1.
- The Buckeyes are on a four-game losing streak and looking to snap that on Wednesday night. The last time they lost four in-a-row was at the end of the 2020-21 regular season and they responded to that by winning three games in three days en route to an appearance in the Big Ten Tournament championship game.
- The Buckeyes have been close during this losing streak as they have been within one possession in the final two minutes in all four games. Just one play here or there and it may be a different story.
- For as much as has been discussed about the Ohio State defense, the Buckeyes held Minnesota without a field goal in the final five minutes of the game on Jan. 12, allowing for the comeback. Against Rutgers, Ohio State limited the Scarlet Knights to their second-worst shooting game of the season.
- The Buckeye offense is still the fourth-most efficient offense in the country according to Kenpom. Ohio State is second in the Big Ten in both field goal percentage (47.3) and three-point field goal percentage (38.7). The 78.0 points per game is third-best in the league.
- Brice Sensabaugh has led the team in scoring in each of the last eight games and is third in the country among freshmen scorers at 16.9 ppg. He is also sixth among freshman in field goal percentage (.505) and third in three-point percentage (.461).
- Sean McNeil has averaged 2.7 three-pointers made per game over the last six games and he is just 13 three-pointers away from 200 in his career.
