COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State sophomores Maxwell Moldovan and Adam Wallin have each been named All-Big Ten according to voting by the leagues head coaches. Moldovan was a unanimous first team selection and Wallin earned second team honors.
For Moldovan, this is the second All-Big Ten accolades of his career as he also earned second team honors last year as a freshman. He has had a remarkable season, winning three times this spring and posting 14 rounds in the 60s. The Uniontown, Ohio native has eight Top 20 finishes in 10 events and has posted 21 of 30 rounds at par or better. He won the NEXUS Collegiate at the start of the spring for his first collegiate title. He then followed that with wins at the Southern Invitational and the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate. Moldovan has also been named Big Ten Golfer of the Week three times this year.
Wallin has nearly been step-for-step with Moldovan this spring. He has seven Top 20 finishes in nine events and has posted 10 rounds in the 60s. He too claimed his first collegiate win this spring, winning the Colleton River Collegiate in early March at 14-under par. Both he and Moldovan have five Top 10 finishes this spring.
Since 2000, this is just the sixth time that multiple Buckeyes have earned All-Big Ten honors in the same season and the second time under head coach Jay Moseley.
