
Buckeyes Head to Duquesne for Midweek Matchup

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s lacrosse team hits the road for a midweek game, as it will take on Duquesne at 1 p.m. Thursday at Rooney Field in Pittsburgh, Pa. (Note the game was scheduled for Wednesday but postponed because of snow in Pittsburgh.)
ESPN+ will carry the broadcast, with live scoring available.

The Buckeyes will be back in Columbus for a noon Saturday game against Mount Saint Mary’s in Ohio Stadium and then will host Marist at 3 p.m. Tuesday (March 15).
Admission is free, and the games will be streamed through Big Ten Plus, with live scoring available.

Buckeyes vs. Dukes
- Ohio State is 15-3 all-time against Duquesne. Ohio State has faced only four schools – Penn State (30), Notre Dame (25), Northwestern (21) and Johns Hopkins (20) – more times in program history.
- The series started in April 1999, a 13-12 Buckeye road win and the teams met each year through 2010.
- The series restarted from 2015-17 and again in 2020.
- The 2020 matchup, an 11-9 Buckeye victory in Columbus, was the first for Amy Bokker at the helm of Ohio State.
- Duquesne is 2-3 on the year. The squad fell on the road at Bucknell, 16-7, in its last time out.
- The team is averaging 10.60 goals a game and allowing 12.40 per contest. The Dukes are 19th nationally in ground balls per game (19.00) and average 9.80 draw controls.

- The Buckeyes are 3-3 this season. The team hosted No. 21 James Madison last Saturday, falling 15-4.
- Ohio State is averaging 12.0 goals a game, allowing 10.83 per contest. The squad has the edge in draw controls (89-72) and ground balls (92-76) against its opponents.
Individually …
- Jamie Lasda leads the Buckeyes with 17 points, sharing the goal lead with Nicole Ferrara with 11 each and the assist lead with Clare Johnston with six apiece. Ferrara is second with 16 points, followed by Lindsay Epstein (10g, 3a, 13p) and Johnston (6g, 6a, 12p).
- Chloe Johnson, Ali Beekhuizen and Caly O’Brien are tied for fourth with seven goals each.
- Johnson leads the squad with 46 draw controls and is 10th nationally and second in the Big Ten with 7.67 per game.
- Jane Cowley and Regan Alexander are first with 10 ground balls each and Cowley and Ava Keethler share the lead with seven caused turnovers each.
- Johnson now has 131 draw controls as a Buckeye, ranking fourth in program history. Current associate head coach Gabby Capuzzi is next on the list, currently third with 166 in the Scarlet and Gray. Johnson has seven-plus draw controls in four of five games this season, including 11 in the season opener, one back of the career-high 12 she had vs. Penn State last season. Since 2016, the Buckeyes’ single-game best is 13, set by Molly Wood twice in 2016.
- Ferrara (11 games, 27g, 8a, 35p) and Lasda (7 games, 12g, 6a, 18p) carry scoring streaks of more than two games into Wednesday’s game.
- Alexander, who earned Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week accolades earlier this season, has started the last five games in the cage. She leads the Big Ten and is 15th in the NCAA with 53 saves this year, ranking 24th in save percentage (.486).
- Lindsay Epstein has two goals in five of the first six games this season and enters the game Wednesday with 49 goals in 51 career games (all starts).
- Johnston has a point in four of six games on the year and has a career-best 12 points this season, matching her career high with six goals.
Eyes on the Buckeyes
- The Buckeyes are slated for three games on BTN – at No. 8 Michigan April 8 and at home vs. No. 4 Maryland April 17 and No. 13 Rutgers April 28.
- Ohio State also will appear on ESPNU April 23 at No. 16 Johns Hopkins and on ACC Network March 31 at Louisville.
- The Buckeyes’ remaining home games will be streamed through Big Ten Plus, including games vs. Mount Saint Mary’s Saturday, Marist March 15 and Penn State March 26, along with a March 19 game at No. 5 Northwestern.
