
Ohio State Earns Road Win Over Nebraska

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 23 Ohio State women’s gymnastics team earned its first road win of the season, and improved to 3-0 in Big Ten competition, with a 196.675-196.350 win over Nebraska on Monday night in Lincoln, Neb. The team’s final score is its best finish of the season.
“I love the fight of this team,” head coach Meredith Paulicivic said. “We had several mistakes early in the lineups and they just keep fighting. I am super excited about the win, the road score and just all of it.”
Overall, six Buckeyes hit career-high scores and four gymnasts earned scores of 9.900 or higher.
MEET NOTES
- The Buckeyes started the evening off with a season-best 49.325 on the uneven bars. Senior Colby Miller and sophomore Nicole Riccardi led the Buckeyes with scores of 9.925 to earn the event win. Riccardi set a career-high on the apparatus while Miller tied her career best. Freshman Stephanie Berger took third with a routine score of 9.850.
- On vault, Lexi Edwards and Jenna Hlavach led the way with scores of 9.875. They both tied for first with Nebraska’s Kinsey Davis. Both Edwards, a junior from Richmond, Va., and Hlavach, a freshman from Baltimore, Md., tied their season-high on the apparatus, while Riccardi also earned a season-high score of 9.800 for the Buckeyes. The team finished the rotation with a score of 49.150 for a season-high score on vault.
- Edwards and Alexis Hankins each scored a team-high 9.925 on floor to win the event title. Hankins, who hails from Omaha, Neb., earned a career-high score in her homecoming meet. Edwards tied her career-high and recorded the 9.925 score for the second consecutive week. Senior Clair Gagliardi and Hlavach tied for third overall with scores of 9.875. Ohio State finished the routine with a score of 49.175.
- For the second week in a row, Stephanie Berger earned the Buckeyes’ best finish on beam with a score of 9.875. Emma Pritchard recorded a season-best score of 9.850 to place second in the Buckeye lineup. The team finished the rotation with a score of 49.050.
