No. 15 Buckeyes Sweep Quincy, 3-0

COLUMBUS, Ohio – No. 15 Ohio State (6-6, 2-3) started the first of back-to-back nights at the Covelli Center Thursday with a 3-0 (25-20, 25-15, 25-18) win over visiting Quincy (3-8, 0-5).
Jacob Pasteur led the Buckeyes with 16 kills while adding a pair of aces and six digs. Samuel Clark had 10 kills.
Noah Platfoot was credited with 36 assists to go with five digs. Parker Mikesch led with a game-high seven digs.

Set One: The Buckeyes scored the first six points of the set before Quincy got on the board. Ohio State continued its hot start in building a 10-2 advantage. The Hawks scored three of the next four points before a Kyle Teune kill made it 12-5 Buckeyes. Another Quincy mini rally made it 13-8 Buckeyes. The Hawks closed the gap to 19-17 before Ohio State benefited from a Quincy service error and a Samuel Clark kill to make it 21-17, prompting Hawks timeout. The Buckeyes scored four of the next seven points to win the set 25-20. Ohio State hit .414 in the opening set while Quincy connected at a .222 rate. Clark led both teams with seven kills on nine swings (.778). Pasteur added six kills.

Set Two: Quincy scored first to start the second. The Buckeyes took the lead until and remained on top until the Hawks tied it at 10-all. Ohio State scored the next five points and eight of the next 11 points to lead 18-13. After a Quincy timeout, the Buckeyes kept the pressure on, scoring the next three points for a 21-13 lead. Set two went to Ohio State 25-15. The Buckeyes hit .500 with Pasteur taking over the team lead with a game total of 11 kills (.625). Quincy hit .214 for the set.

Set Three: The Buckeyes took the early lead and maintained the advantage throughout the third. Quincy could get no closer than three, 11-8 Buckeyes, in Ohio State's 25-18 match-clinching win in set three.
