COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 2/3 Ohio State women’s hockey defeated No. 3/2 Wisconsin in game one of the final regular season series, 5-1, on Friday night. The game proved to be a crowd pleaser as the Buckeyes (24-6-0, 20-6-0 WCHA) took down the Badgers (23-5-4, 18-5-3-0-3 WCHA) in front of a standing-room only crowd at the OSU Ice Rink.
How it Happened
Ohio State came out on fire in the first period, scoring three unanswered goals in the first 16 minutes. An Ohio State turnover with 30 seconds left in the period proved costly as Wisconsin scored with 21 seconds on the clock, but it would be the team’s only goal of the night.
