COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s volleyball team (10-2, 0-2 Big) hosts Indiana (7-7, 1-1 Big) in its Big Ten home opener on Wednesday at 6 p.m. in a match broadcast live on BTN. Fans need a TV login to watch BTN.
Last weekend, the Buckeyes began conference play with two losses on the road. Ohio State fell to No. 7 Purdue in five sets (17-25, 25-19, 25-21, 22-25, 11-15) on Friday before dropping a tight three sets (19-25, 25-27, 21-25) at No. 20 Penn State on Sunday.
- OSU was ranked eighth in Monday’s AVCA poll. This marks the fifth-consecutive week the Buckeyes have been ranked in the top 10.
- This is the fourth time in program history that Ohio State has been ranked in the top 10 for five-straight weeks, last doing so to wrap up the spring 2021 season.
- Last Friday at Purdue, the Buckeyes had five players reach double-figure kills for the second time this season. Emily Londot (20 kills, 15 digs) and Gabby Gonzales (14 kills, 16 digs) each recorded their third double-double of the season.
- Against the Boilermakers, Kylie Murr (29 digs) and Mac Podraza (54 assists) each recorded season-highs.
- On Sunday at Penn State, neither team scored more than three-consecutive points in set one. In set two, neither team led by more than two points.
- Indiana enters the match with an even 7-7 overall record and a 1-1 conference record. Last weekend, the Hoosiers opened Big Ten play with a sweep against Michigan State before getting swept by No. 7 Purdue.
- Ohio State will be the third ranked opponent IU will face this season. The Hoosiers lost to No. 21 Georgia Tech on Sept. 10 in four sets in addition to the Purdue loss.
- Ohio State leads the all-time series 53-29 against Indiana and holds a 30-9 advantage when playing in Columbus.
- The Buckeyes won the most recent meeting with the Hoosiers on Nov. 16, 2019 in four sets on the road. OSU is 7-3 in the last 10 matches against Indiana.
