On the freshmen players:
The freshmen coming have fit in really well with us, with what we do and how we play. Even the transfers are doing well. We’re still building our chemistry and we haven’t had much time with each other in the summer but through out this next month or so, we’ll be able to tell a lot more but so far they’re fitting in really well.
On his decision to come back another year:
It was a super tough decision. It wasn’t hard to make because I knew how much I loved Ohio State. But it was still a tough decision to make with what I wanted to do with my next year–if I wanted to try and play pro ball or stay here. I’m happy with the decision that I made and I’m excited to be back, play in front of Buckeye Nation and play with my teammates.

I look forward to being on of the Buckeye greats. I want to be talked about like Aaron Craft. Everyone loves Aaron Craft! He shows his face and all of Buckeye Nation loves him. You just look at guys like that who have left their mark on this university and I want to be one of those guys.

On wanting to be defensive player of the year:
I felt like I should’ve been it last year and I was robbed of it. But coming into this season, I feel like I need to give them no reason to doubt me. It would mean a lot to me.

On Joey Brunk:
Joey is a great player. Going up against him everyday has been giving us that growth. He’s really skilled, great work and knows how to use his body well.
On what he worked on in the off season:
I definitely worked on my conditioning a lot. I lost some weight and was running a lot to get in the best shape so I could play longer. I worked on my foot speed a lot so I could be able to guard guards and worked on my jump shot.

I want to go out there and show everyone what I can do. I showed bits and pieces of it last year, but I feel like this year people will be able to see what I can really do. What they’re going to see this year and during the upcoming season is going to really shock some people.
