Buckeyes Finish 6th at NCAA Regional

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Golf can be brutal at times. Wednesday was one of those time for Ohio State. The Buckeyes carded a final round of even-par 288 and came up two shots short of qualifying for the NCAA Championship.
Ohio State finished in sixth place as just the top five teams advanced. Three Buckeyes finished in the Top 21 led by freshman Maxwell Moldovan. The Uniontown, Ohio, native carded three consecutive rounds of 1-under 71 to finish in a tie for 17th at 3-under. Moldovan finished his freshman campaign with a team-leading 71.50 scoring average which ties Chris Wollmann for the lowest in a single season since 1980.
Sophomore Jackson Chandler opened with a round of 2-under 70 and then followed with a pair of even-par 72s to finish a shot behind Moldovan at 2-under par. This was the first tournament this season that Chandler has finished under-par.
Elis Svard made four birdies in his final eight holes to bounce-back from a tough start and posted a final round 72. He too played the final 36 holes at even par and finished in a tie for 21st. The finished was also his first under-par finish of the season.
Adam Wallin carded a 1-over 73 on Wednesday which was his lowest round of the tournament. Felix Kvarnstrom rounded-out the Buckeyes with a final round 78.
