CARMEL, Ind. – Crooked Stick Golf Club is one of the tougher courses in the country and it’s showing its teeth this week. The wind and thick rough has made scoring difficult. Ohio State posted a round of 301 on Saturday and currently sits in sixth place at the Big Ten Championship with a round to play.
The scoring was a bit better on Saturday but the field average was still north of 76.5. Through two rounds, the average score is 77.67.
Freshman Maxwell Moldovan continues to lead the Buckeyes as he has posted rounds of 74-75 and is in the Top 10 at 5-over par. Felix Kvarnstrom had the low round of the day for the Buckeyes as he made four birdies and posted a 2-over 74. He is tied for 12th at 7-over par.
Jackson Chandler had a solid round going as he was even with three holes to play. As have so many over the first two days, he was bit by the last three holes and finished with a 76. He is 11-over through two rounds.
Adam Wallin and Elis Svard are both tied for 36th at 12-over par after 36 holes. Wallin came in with a 76 on Saturday while Svard posted a 77.
The Buckeyes are paired with Rutgers and Northwestern and the trio will begin the final round at 8:40 a.m. Sunday morning.
