COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 8-ranked Ohio State women's tennis team defeated Maryland, 5-2, in its first Big Ten road match of the season. Ohio State improves to 6-2 overall and 3-0 in conference play with the victory over the Terps (0-3, 0-3 B1G).

In Doubles
- The Buckeyes controlled play in doubles, winning on courts three and one for the doubles point.
- On court three, the duo of Luna Dormet and Madeline Atway shut out Zoe Kulkarni and Ebony Sampson, 6-0.
- On court one, Isabelle Boulais and Kolie Allen posted a 6-3 victory over Ayana Akli and Minorka Miranda. The Buckeye duo is now a team-best 5-1 this spring.
- Lucia Marzal and Irina Cantos Siemers led Eva Alexandrova and Adela Josefova 5-2 when the doubles point was clinched.
- Ohio State has won the doubles point in five of nine matches this season.
In Singles
- Freshman Tanisha Kashyap dropped just one game on court six for a 2-0 Buckeye lead, as she topped Sampson, 6-0, 6-1.
- The Terps got on the board when No. 89 Akli defeated No. 78 Irina Cantos Siemers, 6-4, 6-3.
- On court five, Dormet rallied to win the first set 7-5 and then shut out Josefova in the second set for a 3-1 Ohio State advantage. Dormet is 5-0 in dual matches this spring.
- Boulais clinched the Buckeye win as she defeated Miranda on court three. After winning the first set 6-3 Boulais claimed the second in a tiebreaker, 7-6 (2).
- After winning her first set against Kulkarni in a tiebreaker, Allen dropped just one game in the second set for a 7-6 (3), 6-1 win on court four.
- Maryland took the last match, with Alexandrova winning over Hofbauer in three sets, 6-3, 3-6, 6-2.
