COLUMBUS, Ohio – After a week off from competition, the Ohio State women’s volleyball team is back in action this weekend with a pair of matches against Iowa. The teams will meet in the Covelli Center on Friday at 6 p.m. and Saturday at 5 p.m.

SENIOR SALUTE
Friday’s contest will serve as Ohio State’s senior night. The Buckeyes will honor Jordan Fry, Becca Mauer, Hannah Gruensfelder and Lauren Witte after the match.
LAST TIME OUT
The Buckeyes improved to 4-0 on the year after getting two wins at Michigan State (Jan. 31-Feb. 1). Ohio State swept the first meeting and rallied from a 2-1 deficit to clinch a five-set victory the following night. Emily Londot had a career-high 24 kills, 11 digs and five blocks to open the month of February and averaged 4.50 kills per set during the series. Ohio State is off to its best start in conference play since the 2004 season.
SCOUTING IOWA
Iowa (1-5) split its series with Indiana last weekend after winning the first contest, 3-1, and dropping the second matchup, 3-2. Courtney Buzzerio is averaging 2.43 kills per set while Bailey Ortega is handing out 5.22 assists per set.
HISTORY WITH THE HAWKEYES
Ohio State has a 64-12 advantage in its all-time series with Iowa, dating back to 1976. The Buckeyes are 32-6 when hosting the Hawkeyes and swept the 2019 home-and-home series.
BIG TEN RANKINGS
The Buckeyes currently sit at No. 3 in the Big Ten behind 14.61 digs per set and fourth with 12.17 assists per set. Ohio State has held its opponents to a .153 hitting clip, which ranks fourth, and its 13.39 kills comes in fifth. Individually, Mac Podraza’s 10.06 assists (3rd), Kylie Murr’s 4.00 digs (5th) and Emily Londot’s 3.83 kills (5th) ranks among the conference’s leaders.
