Ten questions with new Buckeye Joe Dunlap, a freshman forward.
If you could live anywhere, where would it be, and why?
Somewhere near the ocean because I love going to the beach.
Favorite pizza toppings?
Cheese
Would you rather drive or be the passenger?
Passenger
Are you a coffee person? How do you take it?
Regular iced coffee with a caramel swirl
Favorite dipping sauce?
Barbeque
What is your biggest pet peeve?
Being late, or someone taking their time when I’m in a rush.
What is your favorite holiday? Why?
The Fourth of July. I love the fireworks and being outside with friends.
Favorite show to binge watch?
The Office
Why do you wear No. 21?
I’ve always worn 21. I got my jersey size changed in mites and 21 was the only number left, so I’ve worn it ever since.
What was your first job?
I was a busboy at Tuscan Kitchen.

Prior to Ohio State
- Played for Fargo Force in the USHL in 2019-20, with 28 points (11g, 17a) in 48 games
- Won the Iron Man award with the Force
- Spent 2018-19 with Central Illinois Flying Aces and had 24 points, with 12 goals and 12 assists, in 61 regular season games
- Played two seasons with New Hampton School, winning the coaches award
- Came up with New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs program and won U16 championship
- Graduated from Virtual Learning Academy in 2019
- Also played football and lacrosse
Personal
- Son of Joe and Lori, who are both self-employed, and has a brother, Jake
- Plans to major in management operations and hopes to own his own business
- Has always worn No. 21
- Played with Buckeyes Tate Singleton and Ryan Snowden with the Flying Aces
- Chose Ohio State “because of the unbelievable coaching staff, the tour was amazing and I fell in love with campus.”
- Enjoys fishing
- Got into hockey at age 3 when his parents got him into a learn to skate program
- Favorite hockey player is David Pasternak, saying “I’m a Bruins fan and I love his style and his scoring ability.”
