
Buckeyes Set to Race Three Teams in Virginia

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 7 Ohio State rowing team is back on the east coast this weekend to race Duke, Syracuse and Virginia on Lake Monticello in Virginia. Ohio State will race Duke and Syracuse in the first session and Virginia in the second session on Saturday. The Buckeyes enter the regatta 5-7 overall and 1-4 in races on the season.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
At the 2018 NCAA Championships, Virginia finished just ahead of Ohio State in fifth place with 104 points and Syracuse finished 16th with 52 points. In the most recent CRCA/US Rowing Coaches Rankings, Virginia comes in ranked No. 10 while Syracuse is ranked No. 17 and Duke is one of eight teams receiving votes.
OHIO STATE AS OF LATE
The crew opened the season in Princeton last weekend, finishing 1-4 in races and 5-7 overall. The Second Varsity Eight led the Buckeyes with a win over Princeton and Brown. The boat raced a 6:21.4 time to beat its opponents by a combined 8.9 seconds. The Second Varsity Four came in second in its first race of the season with a time of 7:28.0.
