On spring practice so far:
I’m excited about how the young guys are working right now. I’m pretty pleased with their development. I like where we are right now. Depth wise we’re still fighting, that’s no question. The good news is the young guys get a lot of reps.

It was big for my career. It was a fun time and I prepared for the Rose Bowl like I’ve never prepared (for anything) before. It was good for my confidence leading into this year.

On opportunity to start:
It means the world to me. Growing up in Ohio and loving this place, it’s a dream come true. With this opportunity comes responsibility. I still have to do a lot to maintain my position. That’s honestly what all the work has been for… My career has just been come to work everyday and take advantage of every opportunity.
Josh Myers
On his goal this spring:
The main goal of this spring was to remain healthy and get better and work on my craft every day. I think I stopped worrying about a lot of things and I just focused on myself.
Reflecting on departing players:
We had a great offensive line last year. A lot of really tough players. Those are big shoes to fill but we plan to do it.
Wyatt Davis
On Josh Myers:
He’s definitely been taking charge. Up until this point, he’s been doing great. He’s been strong with his calls and really confident. I’m pretty excited for this season to come.
On being a leader:
It’s been weird, especially with the type of leaders that have been before me. Guys like Billy Price, Isaiah Prince and Jamarco Jones, and now it’s my time. Crazy how fast it has all came. I feel like I just came in as a freshman looking up to those guys and now it’s my turn to help lead the young guys.
Branden Bowen
On his physical status:
I’m in the best shape of my life. I’m faster and stronger than I was. I feel like I can bring a lot of great things to the line.
On improving at Ohio State:
You’re getting the best in the country every day and they’re helping me a lot. I’m working every day to progress and I feel good at both right and left.
Nicholas Petit-Frere
On his personal improvements:
I’ve been learning the game. I’ve been studying and watching the film, but I need to master the craft. I have my own expectations…If I’m the best I can be then we have a better chance of reaching those team goals.
On competing with Brandon Bowen:
I’m excited to compete with him. He’s a great player and I learn a lot from him too. He has been teaching me a lot. He’s a great athlete and he’s performing really well.
