Why did you come to Ohio State? What made you pick the Buckeyes over other schools?
I came to Ohio State because I grew up a buckeye fan. They also offered an experience not many schools can offer. The resources are endless here.
What is the most memorable moment of your Ohio State career thus far?
Ohio state beating Michigan in double overtime and we stormed the field.
What does it mean to you to be a Buckeye?
It means to be elite in all aspects of life. To be the best person you can be all around.
What does your pre-tournament routine look like? Do you have any superstitions?
I analyze the course layout. I will practice shots and hit clubs I will be hitting in the tournament. If I’m playing well I’ll keep playing the same ball, even if it’s scuffed, unless I make a bogey.
How do you keep yourself entertained on road trips?
I talk with my teammates, play games, go to the hot tub, watch tv, and play on my phone.
Other than golf, did you play any other sports growing up?
I played basketball, football and soccer.
If you had the opportunity to play one sport other than golf at Ohio State, what would it be and why?
Basketball because it’s the sport I like best.
Who is your favorite professional golfer? Why?
Tiger Woods because he is the most dominant player of all time.
Do you have a favorite professional athlete outside of golf?
Kyler Murray
Do you have aspirations to play professionally?
Yes, if the opportunity presents itself.
Is there someone that you try to model your game after? Could be a professional, teammate, etc.
I really like Brooks Koepka’s game. He bombs the ball and does all the aspects of golf really well.
If you could play one course in the world for free, what would it be and why?
Augusta National because it is one of the most exclusive clubs in the world and hosts the most coveted tournament, the Masters.
If you could play one round with any current or former professional golfer, who would it be and why?
I would play with Phil Mickelson. He is one of the best players in the game and I’ve heard he has some of the craziest stories.
What person and or event has had the most influence on your life? Why?
My dad has had the most influence on my life. I’ve talked with him about some of the most important decisions in my life and he always gives me proper advice.
How much do you think you have learned about the game since your freshman year? What is the biggest difference that you see in yourself? If you are a freshman, what has the experience been like since arriving at Ohio State? What have you learned?
I’ve learned the most about how there are tons of different golf swings. There’s not one swing that is perfect for the game.
In what ways has the coaching staff helped you grow and develop your game?
They have provided me good advice on my swing and abilities. They have also reached out to other top swing professionals to get other opinions.
What aspect of your game do you feel gives you an advantage over your opponents?
How long I hit the ball.
If you could achieve anything in golf while in college, what would it be?
Win the NCAA team championship.
How do you keep your skills sharp in the offseason?
Allow for time off at the beginning of the offseason, but then develop a plan to work on the weaknesses of my game and work on that throughout the rest of the offseason.
What do you like to do in your free time? Are you a gamer, involved in organizations, etc.
I like to play basketball, video games, and watch sports.
How did you choose your major?
It provided me with the most opportunities to have a successful future.
