• The Ohio State University Buckeyes kick off their 55th season of collegiate basketball Sunday at 2 p.m. vs. Valparaiso.
• The game is part of the Ohio Basketball Hall of Fame Classic which is being hosted by Wittenberg University.
• The game will be just the second meeting between the two schools. The Buckeyes won 84-60 at the Alabama Shootout on Nov. 22, 2000 which was also a neutral site meeting.
• Ohio State was 14-15 last season and lost three starters from a team that finished fifth in the Big Ten at 10-8. Valpo was 8-24 last year under first year head coach Mary Evans and return six letterwinners and three starters.
• The Buckeyes welcome in eight new players to the roster this year, including seven freshmen which make up the No. 4 ranked recruiting class in the country.
• Junior transfer Braxtin Miller joins the program after playing at Oklahoma State the last two years.
• Sophomore forward Dorka Juhasz was named Preseason All-Big Ten. She led the team in scoring and rebounding last year and earned second team All-B1G honors
• Ohio State is one of nine schools in the country with three or fewer upperclassmen on its roster this season.
• Buckeye head coach Kevin McGuff is entering his seventh season at Ohio State and his 18 overall as a head coach. He is just eight wins shy of 400 for his career.
