COLUMBUS, Ohio – Outside hitter Jenaisya Moore earned her first weekly honor after being named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week, the conference announced Monday.
The Germantown, Md. native recorded double-digit kills for Ohio State during matches against No. 6 Minnesota and Maryland last week. Moore turned in 4.12 kills per set, 4.38 points per set and a .272 hitting percentage. She averaged 0.62 digs per frame and added three blocks (one solo).
Moore’s 14 kills helped the Buckeyes push the Golden Gophers to five sets. Her 19 kills against the Terps was a high for her in a Big Ten outing. She hit .395, converting half of her 38 attempts with only four miscues. Moore has reached double figures in kills during seven of the eight conference matches she has played in.
Moore is hitting .257 on the season, averaging 3.70 kills and 4.11 points per set. She is the second Buckeye to receive weekly conference honors this year joining Kylie Murr, who was the Defensive Player and Co-Freshman of the Week on Sept. 23.
