FIELDS TABBED AS DAVEY O’BRIEN AWARD SEMIFINALIST
Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields is one of 16 semifinalists for the Davey O’Brien Award, the Davey O’Brien Foundation and its National Selection Committee announced today.
The Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award is presented annually to the best college quarterback, and is the nation’s oldest and most prestigious national quarterback award. The Davey O’Brien Foundation and its National Selection Committee will release the names of the three finalists on Monday, Nov. 25. The 2019 Davey O’Brien winner will be announced live on The Home Depot College Football Awards Thursday, Dec. 12.

FULLER A SEMIFINALIST FOR THE WITTEN MAN OF THE YEAR AWARD
Jordan Fuller – a two-time captain and veteran of 47 career games for the Buckeyes – is one of 20 semifinalists for the Jason Witten Man of the Year Award, which honors exemplary leadership.
Three finalists will be named for the award on Monday, December 16. The winner will be announced at the award ceremony on February 18, 2020, at The Star in Frisco, Texas.
Just the 14th two-time captain in program history, Fuller is a three-year starter at safety and this season is leading the nation’s top overall statistical defense. He’s second on the team in tackles with 43 and also has a pair of interceptions. His play has helped the Buckeyes rank No. 1 nationally in scoring defense (8.6 points/game), total defense (214.8 points/game) and passing defense (126.6 yards/game).

Quick Quotes Previewing Rutgers
Jeff Okudah, CB
On responding to adversity:
I think our team has done a really good job of showing resiliency no matter what happens. Being here for three years we’ve had our fair share of adversity. Just being able to respond positively to anything that we face, I think that’s been big. We’ve always stressed that we need to be able to respond to adversity.
On Garrett Wilson:
I think what stands out about Garrett is his ball skills. Since I’ve been here I haven’t seen anyone that possesses those ball skills and how natural he’s able to locate the ball and high point the ball.
With another off-season with Coach Mick and Coach Hartline and as he starts to mature as a player, he can only get better.
