Fuller a Semifinalist for the Witten Man of the Year Award

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Jordan Fuller – a two-time captain and veteran of 47 career games for the Buckeyes – is one of 20 semifinalists for the Jason Witten Man of the Year Award, which honors exemplary leadership.
Three finalists will be named for the award on Monday, December 16. The winner will be announced at the award ceremony on February 18, 2020, at The Star in Frisco, Texas.
Just the 14th two-time captain in program history, Fuller is a three-year starter at safety and this season is leading the nation’s top overall statistical defense. He’s second on the team in tackles with 43 and also has a pair of interceptions. His play has helped the Buckeyes rank No. 1 nationally in scoring defense (8.6 points/game), total defense (214.8 points/game) and passing defense (126.6 yards/game).
Fuller in Ohio State’s active leader in career tackles (205) and also has five interceptions and seven pass breakups. He’s started 22 consecutive games.
Off the field, Fuller’s been equally impressive. The two-time CoSIDA Academic All-American has a 3.601 grade-point average in business marketing and is one of 12 finalists for the William V. Campbell Trophy, which is presented annually to the nation’s top football scholar-athlete. He’s on schedule to graduate in December.
A 2018 Big Ten Distinguished Scholar, Fuller has been an active member of the campus community. He helped create a seminar called “The Buckeye Way: Sexuality, Identity, and Relationships” to educate student-athletes on sexual assault, sexual violence and healthy relationships. Fuller is also part of the leadership team and has organized multiple events for Redefining Athletic Standards (RAS), an organization with the goal of giving black student-athletes on campus a voice.
