OHIO STATE AT CROOKED STICK INVITATIONAL
- Ohio State is making their first appearance at the Crooked Stick Invitational.
- The Buckeyes are also playing at Crooked Stick Golf Club for the first time as a program.
THE COURSE
- Crooked Stick Golf Club is the first course built by the famed Pete Dye and remains one of the premier courses of its kind. Dye toured St. Andrew’s, Muirfield, Prestwick and others to find inspiration for this very own links course in Carmel, Indiana. The track was carved out of corn fields and featured tenants of Scottish golf with railroad ties, strip bunkers, grass pot bunkers, and blind spots. The course has hosted a number of prestigious events including the PGA Championship, U.S. Women’s Open, the Solheim Cup and the U.S. Senior Open.
BUCKEYE BACKDROP
- Ohio State welcomed three ACC teams to Muirfield Village Golf Club for the Jack Nicklaus Invitational.
- The tournament was played as a Ryder Cup-like format with teams playing foursomes, fourball and individual matches over 54-holes.
- The Buckeyes closed out the tournament 0-2-1 with a loss and tie to Clemson and loss to Florida State.
- Felix Kvarnstrom showed up big in his final round, matching up with John Pak, a member of the 2019 U.S. Walker Cup team, from Florida State. Kvarnstrom played exceptional golf in a battle of number ones, downing Pak 4&3 to earn Ohio State’s first point.
