COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State fencing program headed to Westerville for its 2019 Fall Break Leadership Retreat, allowing the group to connect as a team outside the gym.
Thursday, fencers left campus and traveled to secluded Summit Vision to practice leadership skills and team building exercises. The Buckeyes participated in a variety of challenges, each requiring focus on a different aspect of working as a team, such as trust, communication and verbal support. They even broke a facility record for fastest time recorded to complete a challenge. They then wrapped up their day on the high ropes course.
From sophomore Stephanie Miller:
“We are all very grateful we had this opportunity to become closer as a team and are excited to put these helpful skills to use in the gym and on and off the strip this year!”
