COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s soccer team topped No. 19 Wisconsin, 2-1, in its regular-season finale Sunday afternoon at Bert L. & Iris S. Wolstein Field at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. With the win, the Buckeyes conclude the regular season with a 9-5-3 record while the Badgers drop to 12-3-3. The teams tied for third in the Big Ten with a 6-2-3 conference record and the Buckeyes earn the No. 3 seed in the Big Ten Tournament on the head-to-head tiebreaker and will host a quarterfinal match next Sunday.
QUOTE FROM THE COACH
“That’s an excellent Wisconsin team,” Lori Walker-Hock, Ohio State head coach, said. “I thought we did an excellent job of keeping the ball on the ground and playing our type of soccer. We were able to pull their midfield apart and I’m proud of the courage our team was able to display. With a lot of things out of our control today in terms of Big Ten Tournament seeding, I was proud that we were able to show up and take care of business.”
